Summary: No USB Keyboard Support
Description:
Booting from the 1.6 install CD: trying to press ENTER at the `boot:'
prompt with a USB keyboard does not work. More generally, the USB
keyboard does not work at all until the installer boots (I had to plug in
a PS/2 keyboard to get it to boot). I'm not sure if USB support is even
possible in the bootable install CD, but it would be nice.
[I'm not sure if the `ISO' category is correct, but I assumed that that
category is for the install CD. Apologies if I was wrong.]

Currently there is no USB support for keyboard/mice during the installer -
this might change later. There is no target version for this support since
USB won't be builtin to the kernel due to conflicting usb drivers.

Could a timeout perhaps be added to the prompt, i.e. automatically starts
booting after 30 seconds or a minute?

I agree with dps on this one. A timeout would solve this issue promtly.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
1.6.0-i686-rc1 has a timeout and automatically boots after 60 seconds -
that should already help you get past the problem if the system finds the
cd drive properly.
