The reason is that /bin/telnet was a symlink to /bin/busybox. As you
installed netkit-telnet the installer just did something like 'cp
telnet.o /bin/telnet', which of course overwrites /bin/busybox, but will
leave the symlink untouched.
busybox of course should conflict with netkit-telnet... but that would
mean that busybox conflicts with just about every other module as well,
and is awkward. Most people can live without busybox and would prefer to
remove it after installation I think (personal opinion)
