Well, check this out:
<command>
[remco at ws1 remco]$ wget http://nl.lunar-linux.org/lunar/lunar-1.4.0.iso.bz2
--11:39:25--  http://nl.lunar-linux.org/lunar/lunar-1.4.0.iso.bz2
	   => `lunar-1.4.0.iso.bz2.1'
Resolving nl.lunar-linux.org... done.
Connecting to nl.lunar-linux.org[81.58.1.155]:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK
Length: 119,265,491 [text/plain]

 0% [					  ] 182,057	  12.56K/s  ETA 2:34:16
</command>
Stays that rate for the full iso!
And on ws1 I use Arch with no download-limit:
<command>
wget http://heanet.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/archlinux/arch-0.6.iso
--11:51:48--
http://heanet.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/archlinux/arch-0.6.iso
	   => `arch-0.6.iso.3'
Resolving heanet.dl.sourceforge.net... done.
Connecting to heanet.dl.sourceforge.net[193.1.219.87]:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK
Length: 516,915,200 [application/octet-stream]

 0% [					  ] 75,296	  50.19K/s  ETA 2:47:35
</command>
It will nevet get any higher than the 50 Kb/s, because I only have a 500K ADSL
connection here....
At the end of the iso, the DL-speed has an average of about 45 Kb/s.

I'm */NOT/* trying to steer things up!
I just found a problem on my testmachine, which I was actually just about to
transfer to production, when I found this problem, because a few developers
were complaining about the download speed of images and other binaries!

Well, I tried a few Lunar-mirrors and didn't get the downloadspeeds any higher
than 15 Kb/s, with an average around 13 Kb/s. Maybe you get higher speeds
because of your location?
