Hello,

why we are not using xorg 1.11?

--- Xorg 1.11 Ready ---
* xorg open drivers including all Intel are ready 'out of the box' since
this xorg release. Also kernel 3.2-rc2 ready (linux-3 lunar module).

* NVIDIA-beta commited on 2011-10-05 ver 285.05.09 is ready (now is at
290.06 and still ready) This module supports Geforce6/7/8/9/2xx/4xx/5xx up
to current. Also kernel 3.2-rc2 ready (linux-3 lunar module).

* NVIDIA commited on 2011-10-22 ver 285.05.09 is ready. This module
supports Geforce6/7/8/9/2xx/4xx/5xx up to current.

* fglrx - nobody updated it since ages but the recent release 11.11 is
xorg 1.11 ready. Someone having Radeon hardware and in need will bump it
:) Driver supports Radeon 2000 and later. Early Radeon users have only
open source xorg driver option.

* Niche GPU makers: Matrox, SiS, VIA/S3 and all others dead long time ago.
Open source Xorg drivers - the only option so we can consider them as xorg
1.11 ready. Matrox Parherlia binary driver was dead long time ago without
a chance for update and no opensource driver.

* NVIDIA-old (supports riva 128/vanta/tnt/tnt2 geforce 1/2) last supported
xorg-server 1.4 from year 2007. No more Xorg updates. For these users only
nv driver from xorg or nouveau is working option which are xorg 1.11
ready.

--- Problematic drivers (may work with ignoreABI/may be later updated) ---
* NVIDIA-fx xorg 1.10 ready only(supports geforce 5/FX) 1.11 support may
appear
* NVIDIA-legacy xorg 1.10 ready only (supports geforce 3/4) 1.11 support
may appear
IgnoreABI will probabely make them working till new driver release (if it
will appear).

have a nice day,
Zbigniew Luszpinski
