Summary:                    /etc/init.d/network does not assign gateway address
upon "/etc/init.d/network restart" when using a static IP address.
Description: 
The command "/etc/init.d/network restart" does not (re)assign a default
gateway when using a standard ethernet eth0 connection with a static IP
address, when /etc/config.d/gateway contains the correct address, and
"/etc/init.d/network start" assigns the gateway correctly.  In the
/etc/init.d/network script, the "restart" option calls upon the
"device_start" function which does not call upon "start" or issue a
gateway.  It does take care of the address, netmask, and broadcast address
though.  However, the "start" function calls upon "device_start" and then
assigns a gateway address.  Lnet only gives the option of stop and
restart, not start.
