Summary: udev does not create cdrom and dvd related dev nodes
under 2.6.20 linux kernel
Description:
udev does not create cdrom and dvd related dev nodes under 2.6.20 linux
kernel. the same kernel config was used to rebuild the 2.6.19.2 and
2.6.19.4 kernel versions and udev work just fine. only for 2.6.20 kernel
version those dev nodes are not created by udev. i used the same udev
rules with all kernel versions too.

Unfortunately, I cannot confirm this (anymore!). It used to be the same
over here (running 2.6.20 in conjunction with a IDE CD-ROM drive) yet,
right now .. the drive is recognized properly and udev also creates the
right device nodes for it. Maybe a kernel configuration issue? Check for
CONFIG_SYSFS_DEPRECATED and for the right IDE/ATA options (supposedly they
changed their location/meaning).
