Summary: Cannot use any command
Description:
Dear Sir:
I have been updated my server with
#lunar -v update
(You can see my updated with the attach file)
Then I cannot boot my system with new kernel (2.6-stable), the server
reported
Kernel panic -not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on
unknown-block(8,3)
I'm sure I build the new kernel with reiserfs option.
I try to boot with old kernel(2.6.20) that provide & recommend by lunar
CD.
After I login with root account. I cannot use any command with my server.
The server will return login promt after I use that command even though
reboot command.
What should I do about this? Plz advice me for fix it.
Best Regards
Piggy.

You mention 2 different problems. Please file a separate bugreport for the
-stable kernel issue if you think this is a bug.

Can you mount the filesystems after booting from the lunar install ISO?
chroot into your system?

Yep.. I can mount that file system when I boot my server with the recommend
kernel-2.6.20 that provided with Lunar CD.
But I cannot use any command with my server. The server will return login
prompt after I use any command.
You can check what program that had been updated from attached file.
Best Regards
PIggy

This is really hard to debug without seeing any cut'n'paste output.
Can you execute any binary after mounting your filesystem from the ISO
(but not chrooting?)
Do you get any error messages? is /var/log/* showing anything? can you run
static binaries (ldconfig?!?!)
