Summary:                    Cannot boot my system with new kernel 2.6-stable,
Description: 
Dear Sir:
I cannot boot my system with new kernel (2.6-stable) after I compile and
install new kernel(2.6-stable). 
The server reported 
Kernel panic -not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on
unknown-block(8,3)
I'm sure I build the new kernel with reiserfs option.

What should I do about this? Plz advice me for fix it.

ATA/IDE/SATA driver is misconfigured. please remember that between 2.6.18
and 2.6.19 all the ATA/PATA/SATA kernel configuration names changed. A
2.6.20 config will not work properly on a 2.6.16 kernel. Please
reconfigure your kernel and enable your hdd drivers properly.
