I can't fix the 1.4.0 ISO. You'll have to be patient and wait for 1.5.0
to come out which should address the issue.

Hi!
I try to install lunar linux 1.4.0 on SATA HDD.The SATA controller is
SiliconImage 3112A(rev2). During booting of lunar CD I manualy load
siimage module. It detects 3112A chip and configures it as hde. But in
/dev/ directory there is no hde device. So manualy made it using mknod
and next chmod 0644. Next setup other things like language and go to
partition setup. I click on partition setup button (or something
similar) but nothing happens. So tried to fdisk from shell but got "No
disk" error. I have ext3 and swap partitions on this HDD so try to
mount them but it is not possible, nothing happens. The same situation
is in source mage 0.9.3 (kernel 2.6.8.1). The only working distro is
Mandrake 9.2 (kernel 2.4.22) and later (kernel 2.6.x based) 10.0, 10.1
versions.
I can not understand why older mandrake 9.2 with kernel 2.4.22 can
recognize (automaticly!) SATA drive and new distros like lunar (kernel
2.4.25) or source mage (kernel 2.6.8.1) can not (even when manualy
running module, mknod, chmod). It looks this bug comes from sorcerer
root if both these distros are having the same bug.
Any ideas how to fix this? I do not want to stay with mandrake. It is
too conservative.
greets,
Zbigniew
