gnome-spell devs are BRAIN dead. This package has not compiled
correctly for a long time -- especially since aspell moved up to the
0.60.x interface.

I've hacked gnome-spell to get it to compile/install with
aspell-0.60.2, but I really don't know what good it will do you. I
tested evolution-2.0.4 and the spell as you type feature still does not
work, now that gnome-spell is installed. I suspect evolution is still
using a VERY old gnome-spell (like ver. 0.5 ???)

If you see some way to fix the gnome-spell/evolution mess, by all means
post a message to the lunar ML.

gnome-spell-1.0.5 needs aspell as you can see:

checking for new_aspell_config in -laspell... no
configure: error: gnome-spell cannot be built without aspell library
Creating /var/log/lunar/compile/gnome-spell-1.0.5.bz2
! Problem detected during BUILD

The problem is that aspell is correctly spelled :o) in gnome-spell's
DEPENDS file and that lin (theedge of today) cannot resolve this
dependency.

WTF ???

I've done lin moonbase & lin theedge this morning. I logged out & in to
be sure.

Lunar gets harder and harsher to install / maintain theses days ! What
are you doing to improve the whole thing ? This is your baby, I know,
nobody voted for me to get in the inner circle... But in the end we all
want to work with a better Linux distro isn't it ?

Who'll have the time to respond ?

Kind regards,

Couannette
