perhaps this needs to be reported to the gabber folks? does it appear to be
a compiler/source issue?

Gabber will release 0.8.8 soon according to website, will not try until
release becomes available.

gabber now says they may never release 0.8.8 and there ios also a security
problem with earlier versions... I have removed it from moonbase. It's a
good idea that never happened IMHO!
