Kernel upgrade problem

Thanks, but no cigar. It kind of looks like the kernel is not 
assigning a device. I see the ata driver recognize the drives, then I 
see the scsi driver recognize the drives, then I see the kernel 
panic. Unlike in the older kernel, I don't ever see it assign a drive 
designation.
