file a bug please. gpm should still work (allthough I don't use it and think gpm
is a pain in the ass)

If you're really paranoid, just grab a copy of 1.6.2-alpha which installs
gcc-4.1, xorg-7.2 and xfce 4.4 for you, working, no installs needed. it's at
www.lunar-linux.org/lunar/testing
