I want to offer my sincere thanks to those who put forth the effort to
help solve this driver problem.

However, I was never able to get the latest fglrx driver to properly
support my 1440 x 900 laptop screen. After doing a considerable amount of
searching and reading, I decided to try the radeonhd driver and it
supports my screen beautifully.

While the radeonhd driver somewhat new and does not yet support #d
accelleration, for my purposes, it does everything I need. From my
reading, I also expect it to become the driver of choice for the ATI
Radeon videl cards.

Thanks again.
