Major version update usually introduces major changes. That is why I posted it 
for testing first and named it as cpufreqd2 to not conflict with former 
cpufreqd. However you have right. I also do not find any reason for keeping 
the old one. It looks comaptible with previous major version.

bugfix (y/n)      : n
security (y/n)    : n

New, major release of cpufreqd. It works well with my Athlon64 when switching 
1GHz <-> 1.8GHz on fly. Remeber to configure /etc/cpufreqd.conf after module 
installation.
