problem when I build libdv

hi, maybe i've done something wrong but here it goes:
I've started with a clean install from 1.5 install cd
and try to install kino which require libdv

libdv will not compile evean after all the
requirements are met and that is because it will not
find X11, gtk+ headers.

after I have executed:
export
CPATH=/usr/X11/include/:/usr/include/gtk-2.0/:/usr/include/glib-2.0:/usr/lib/glib-2.0/include/:/usr/include/pango-1.0/:/usr/lib/gtk-2.0/include/:/usr/include/atk-1.0/

everything has gone well.

Is there a better way?
