Cannot mount cd rom drive

I cannot mount any cd's.. and I cannot burn to any cd's (graveman
keeps saying "please insert media")  Graveman does point to
dev=ATAPI:0,0,0

I had this same setup for cdrecord/graveman in Lunar 1.4 and all worked fine.

Any ideas?
