Here's the latest weekly news edition!

wow,
so much stuff happened and so much stuff will happen that sometimes lunar
seems not te be my highest priority. I have to admit that that's the case,
and that having a wonderful wife and future with her comes first. For those
who missed the news: Me and Tau got married two weeks ago, on a sandy beach
in the sun, surrounded by our nearest family members. We will also exchange
the busy city center with a whole different landscape with mountains on the
background soon.
Of course, life is pretty boring without toys to get distracted with every
now and then and thus in the mean time we have been working on lunar very
hard. Even though the weeklies were mostly empty you will have noticed that
the number of updates hasn't really decreased in the last weeks.
All kernels were updated, 2.4 to .31 and 2.6 to several different versions
and more coming. Kde saw a maintenance update from 3.4 to 3.4.1, and talk
is that kde 4.0 might be coming out anytime soon, mostly related to the
fact that Trolltech released qt4. While this is a huge step for qt/kde
programs and requires some major code porting, the kde team seems to be on
top of it.
We've started working with a submission queue and interested people can
start reviewing new modules and updates already without the need to prove
themselves first. Those interested can request an account by emailing me.
anyone who writes a module now and then should do this.
The release of the 1.5.0 ISO was a major step as well. Hardly has such a
large release had so few news about it afterwards, but the download
numbers are very large, so it's definately a success already. We can
also see that the new installer has reduced installation problems. An
update and a i386 version is planned but not scheduled.
I hope to fill the weeklies a bit more in the coming weeks and keep you all
posted on the regular activities as usual. Most likely there will be a
lot of new things in the coming summer so stay tuned and bring your laptops
to the beach!
