xterm?

what happened to xterm? O.O i thought it was the "default" x
terminal...... *scratches head*

does gnome-terminal use xterm? my gnome-terminal says "There was an
error creating the child process for this terminal" when i start it
and 'lin -c xterm' says xterm is not in moonbase.
