lunar prune doesn't work as advertised

When I do a "lunar prune" or enable it in the options menu,
it wipes out everything from /var/cache/lunar except the
README file,  and /var/spool/lunar is reduced to only
current sources as defined in moonbase, whether installed or
not.  This is not what I read in the man page, and has been true
at least since 1.3.1.

Is that what is supposed to happen?
