enabling/disabling features (Was Re: RE Questions with Auke Kok)

Ahh ok I see, well yeah you have a point but autoconf is way to horrible
of a program to use.  As some of the modules in moonbase will not build
with autoconf and automake installed.  I dont know about any other
programs that woul do this but florin has somelinks we might can look
at??
