NETDEV WATCHDOG timeout

I keep getting the following error:

	NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out

Using:

	modprobe 8139too

sucessfully installs the RealTek driver, and I can configure the
interface, but any attempt to actually send out packets generates this
error. The hardware works fine under Red Hat. Any ideas what it could be?
