I'd perhaps advise you to consider using GRUB, especially as GRUB doesn't
need the kernel's location to be updated after every recompile etc.

OR you'll have to be *very* carefull with the configs on *both* sides ;^)

That's the difference between LILO & GRUB, grub do look for it at
boot time, and doesn't need to be rerun (like lilo) after changes to the
kernel's position on disk (ie. the physical layout)

Grub have a bit of a tight/troublesome learning curve, but in this
type of configuration, it might just save your butt a few times ;^)
