*NOT* for AMD64 in 64bit mode, as corruption have been reported for it 
on 2.4.xx

Actually since 2.4.23 in AMD64/x86_64 mode, devfs is turned *OFF* in the
kernel, ie. you just can't turn it on....

for devfs on AMD64/x86_64 mode, you'll need 2.6.0-test++
