mesa-8x - no r600???

You're sure that is the case? I fixed the module manually for me to
compile gallium r600 - IT IS NOT bringing a r600_dri.so which is needed
by xorg - if xorg is not finding this file it falls back to swrast
which is software rendering and ultra slow. Probably we're missing
something in xorg-server?
