Welp, apparently my emails didnt go through, so heres a synopsis:
Metakit has the ability to build a python extension called Mk4py. Mk4py
is required by a module I am writing for PyDS (
http://pyds.muensterland.org/ ). There appears to be no way of
installing Mk4py without also reinstalling metakit so i cannot use a
separate module to build it. I've just decided to make Python an
optional dependency. If the user says no and still attempts to install
PyDS, it will still install but will just fail to run with an "import
metakit" error. I ran into some red herrings which i unfortunately
attempted to mail the list about :)
oh well no harm no foul. Ill wait a few hours to submit my changes in
case somebody has a better idea of how to approach this.
