Summary:                    perl version bump
Description: 
I've read about a new, stable perl version (5.14.0):

and I'm unsure, whether or not to bump it, because I don't know perl that
much. There may be e.g. backwards compatibility issues to consider -- I
just don't know :) 

So I'll leave it to the perl gurus to decide whether or not such a version
bump would be safe :D
