Summary: net-tools 1.60 network init script no longer sets
static IP
Description:
Performed a 'lunar update' on 2007-03-17. When the system was rebooted, no
IP address is assigned to eth0. Ifconfig shows that lo and eth0 are up.
Confirmed that the IP was still set on the Address line in
/etc/config.d/network/eth0. Manually setting the IP address with ifconfig
works, and the system is then able to access the network.
Using an older version of the network init script (dated 2003-03-26)
correctly sets the static IP during a network restart and during a reboot.
