Summary: shadow / Linux-PAM mismatch on i686 ISO
Description:
Just so this is logged and not forgotten :-)
at home I installed 1.6.1 ISO, lin XOrg7, xterm, xfce4, firefox,
madwifi-cvs
tried to get my alsa/sound working. worked for root, but not me.
Striker suggested adding myself to audio group. Ratler identified shadow
rebuild required (ldd /bin/login showed no pam). logged out after 'lin
shadow' and was unable to log in until I'd rebooted from ISO and restored
shadow files.
At work, I installed 1.6.1 ISO, lin XORg7, xterm, xfce4, firefox (no wifi,
and no sound). After home lockout, tried lin Linux-PAM and shadow, and had
no problem. I've even rebooted...
