Summary: unable to select XOrg-drm driver
Description:
'lin -r XOrg-drm' presents you with an 'XOrg DRM driver selection' menu but
it doesn't allow you to select any of them.

??? just rebuild XOrg-drm yesterday just fine - selection works.

user feedback - no longer valid

first I tried just a lin moonbase and lin dialog, but lin XOrg-drm still
wouldn't let me select just one driver.
So, a complete 'lunar update' and 4 hours later, I tried again. lin
XOrg-drm still wouldn't let me select just the ATI Radeon driver :-(
This means it builds all drivers, so my ATI Radeon card is taken care of.
So, dialog problem still exists, but not a show-stopper for XOrg-drm.
Now you can mark it as resolved again :-)
BTW:
lvu installed moonbase => 20060306.20
lvu installed lunar => 20060129
lvu installed XOrg-drm => 6.8.2

Thought I might have a funny keymapping, so just tried again at the
console.
Still unable to select anything in the dialog :-(
All drivers installed, so no problem.

Duncan, can you specify *how* you are unable to select drivers? are you
unable to use the space bar? arrow keys? have you tried different
terminals? linux console? can you try to recompile readline, ncurses and
dialog? ... I'm completely lost what the exact "symptom" is in your
bugreport.

The dialog appears for selecting graphics card, but no option is selected.
I can move around with the arrow keys, but I can't select an entry using
Y, X, * or any other obvious key. (Did I try the spacebar? don't
remember)
In the end I hit enter for OK. Without one particular card selected, the
installer then builds all drivers.
So the installation completes successfully, just not as lean and mean as
it could be. I wouldn't spend any more time on it. For reference only :-)

OK, I relin'd readline, ncurses and dialog, then tried XOrg-drm again.
Now I can select the radeon driver (using the spacebar) - this issue
closed.
However, compilation fails if just radeon driver selected:
In file included from /usr/src/xc/extras/drm/linux/radeon_drv.c:41:
/usr/src/xc/extras/drm/linux/drm_agpsupport.h:47: error: syntax error
\
before '*' token
Compilation 'succeeds' if no drivers selected. Now I'm confused. Does
this
mean that it builds all drivers successfully, or just skips them? lsmod
shows
agpart used by drm, drm used by radeon, radeon not used
so I've built the driver somehow at some time in the past. Therefore I
don't
know if this is a new bug that needs reporting, or something I'm missing.
