Summary: Firefox rich text editing doesn't work, enabling it
b0rks everything else
Description:
The rich text editing feature of firefox is disabled by the lunar build
script (--enable-plaintext-editor-only), and changing the build script to
remove that option breaks just about every other feature of firefox:
bookmarks toolbar empty, bookmarks totally gone until once opening manage
bookmarks (after that they appear in the bookmarks menu, but not in the
toolbar), a gray area with a red dot (this is really weird, should've
taken a screenshot) appears below the status bar about 3-4 times as wide
as the status bar.
WTF is up with lunar's configuration of firefox anyway? It is slightly
worrying that the BUILD file doesn't look like anything you can see in the
firefox build/configuration instructions...

Did some more testing, seems like --disable-composer is what does it -
removing both --disable-composer and --enable-plaintext-editor-only
results in a build that both works and has rich text editing support.

I know how to read, thank you. And I do want the firefox module to include
features that are expected of firefox. For one thing, when people ask you
"Oh, why doesn't google mail work in your firefox?", the answer "Seems the
authors of my linux distribution didn't want that in because only idiots
use HTML" should never be the best one.... Oh well, I guess it's just
another module where I'll have to maintain my own module files, lunar hold
it, and check for updates manually
BTW, sorry for marking this one major, obviously this is a minor issue

No, evidently you do NOT know how to read. This module will NOT change. Use
Mozilla if you want all the bells and whistles.

Obviously, this conversation contradicts my not being able to read.
I am ready to accept that the module won't change, but this just isn't
about the firefox module anymore, now is it?
What is it that you think I'm supposed to have read, and what does it say?
Perhaps if you "say" it to me I will understand what I cannot learn by
reading.

Several items display you can't read.
1. This module (firefox) will NOT change. Why keep re-opening a bug report
that will immediately be close.
2. In the DETAILS file for firefox at the bottom of the file:
"------- NOTE -------
The Lunar version of Firefox has crypto enabled and uses only gtk+-2.
NOTHING ELSE IS CONFIGURED IN! No mail, irc, composer, gpg, calendar,
MathML, Javascript debugger, html code inspector, LDAP, help support. If
you want any of that use the regular mozilla module."
3. Stop your whining about Lunar's Firefox. Its a BROWSER. NOT an editor,
nor a calendar, nor a help-enabled system for the blind, nor an irc
client, nor a html debugger, nor an editor.
4. What part of "Use mozilla" if you want any of the above don't you
understand?
