Summary:                    su missing configuration
Description: 
su is missing a configuration file.

No way to use strace with su:

strace -o /tmp/su.log -f su -
su : pam_start : erreur 26

lvu from reveils where do su come from :
root at eana ~ # lvu from /bin/su
...
shadow:/bin/su
...

Here is the lvu info coreutils (lvu info is a great feature!!!!):

to me the problem was solve by deleting
/etc/login.defs and reinstalling lin -rc shadow

(e_timotei at yahoo.com to the Lunar ML)

I tried lin -rc shadow without deleting /etc/login.defs but it didn't help.
