i hit this bug last weekend, i haven't dug deeply to fix it but its a
simple fix
sudo vi `which oowriter`
look for the version number of 1.1.2
replace it with 1.1.3
this fixes all of the oo*'s since they all point to the same script
:-)
enjoy!
note that my spell checking didn't work though.
when you fix that could you test spell checking?

The *.desktop files automatically installed by openoffice-src
that appear in my xfdesktop menu are ueseless. The chosen
apps won't start. Any idea why?

Installation of OpenOffice.org 1.1.2 failed:
'LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/ooo-1.1:/usr/lib/ooo-1.1/program
/usr/lib/ooo-1.1/program/setup
-R:/tmp/ooo-wrapper.autoresponse.file.H28430 -v -nogui >
~/.openoffice-install-log 2>&1'
This also happens when I run oowriter from the command line.
The setup program creates ~/.xopenoffice-1.1 but this is not in the
path, running it directly from there works.

it should be necessary to run the shortcut from the ~/.xopenoffice-1.1
directory (I don't use that method at all).

duh, this is in the ~/.openoffice-install-log :
version already installed
ExitCode: 17
I'll see what happens when I remove it ;-)

Nope that didn't work. I do notice that it complains about ooo 1.1.2 and
that in the installation dialog it says 1.1.3.
Sounds a bit like a broken installation. I'll see when I find some time
to recompile ooo-src (don't hold your breath...).
