I can't get Docbook back in working order[1]. More specifically, when
lin'ing docbook-dtd-xml, it says:
creating XML Catalog root /etc/xml/catalog
find: /usr/share/xml: No such file or directory
could not locate version 4.1.2 of DocBook XML
Creating /usr/share/xml by hand of course makes the first error message
go away.
It remains to find a cure for the last one.
[1]: I tried reinstalling docbook when gimp, libgnomeui, GConf and
ORBit2 (possibly others) failed to lin because building the
documentation failed with:
I/O error : Attempt to load network entity
http://docbook.sourceforge.net/release/xsl/current/html/chunk.xsl
(line broken to make report easier to read.)
Relevant parts of the activity log has been attached; there are 3
parts, each headed with a brief comment with '#'.
The last part is the recent attempt to fix the problem - it begins with
a symptom: scrollkeeper-0.3.14 fails to install.
It turned out that scrollkeeper-0.3.14 had has unsuccesful installation
attempts before - but also at one point a succesful one (of the same
version, 0.3.14). The first two parts of the log shows this: first the
succesful installation, and in part two all of the activity until the
failed install (no log parts left out between parts 1 and 2).
Versions:
glibc 2.3.2
gcc 3.3.3
moonbase 20040717.05
theedge 20040717
Docbook-relevant versions should be given in log (and implicitly in
moonbase version).
