Summary: module-init-tools fails to compile
Description:
I get no real error messages. Ive fiddled with my optimizations but cant
seem to get rid of this. AMD Tbird with 02 and Speedy is my default.
Anyone else having similar problems?

Doesn't seem an optimization problem, AFIACS... jmhodges: can you check if
/sbin/insmod.old /sbin/lsmod.old and so on... from the BUILD file have
been created?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
root at gecko ~ # ls /sbin/insmod.old /sbin/lsmod.old
ls: /sbin/lsmod.old: No such file or directory
/sbin/insmod.old
One out of two seems to be pretty bad :)

jmhodges: if you comment out:
<quote>
if [ ! -e /etc/modprobe.conf ]; then
./generate-modprobe.conf /etc/modprobe.conf
fi
</quote>
from BUILD, does it install fine? I had some problems because
"./generate-modprobe.conf" searches for an inexistant modprobe.old
