Summary: Error - No rule to make install. Installation aborted.
Description:
After sucessfully compiling a module, lin (lunar) reports
"Preparing to install" followed by "Removing installed
module ......" (the prior installation), followed by "Make
install", followed by "No rule to make install, installation
aborted", or words to that effect. Since the prior install is already
uninstalled, this is fatal when the module is critical to system operation
and maintenance. This occurred
twice yesterday compiling "coreutils", two different computers, Lunar 1.3,
updated moonbase and lunar, one with
gcc 3.2.2 and one with gcc 3.2.3. With the coreutils gone,
so is the ability to configure, compile, etc, and I don't
know anything to do but reformat and restore from backup.

make sure you re-lin your core code (lunar is preferred atm). Other than
that all coreutils programs are protected and you can manually do a make
install in the /usr/src/coreutils directory to pick up if you want to.

Please turn on VERBOSE

Please paste me output, I cannot give you more pointers now. If you wish
to submit more problems reopen the bug.
