Hello there over the moon!
I made an attempt to install Lunar yesterday!
Here is a quick report.
1. I could not find lunar-1.6.5-rc1-i686.iso.bz2
I downloaded lunar-1.6.5-i686.iso.bz2 (I hope it is identical)
2. Unzipped and created bootable USB stick with it.
3. Currently I have another linux, which works.
Hence I tried to install Lunar on another USB stick (8 GBytes).
Everything seems to work OK.
Kernel got compiled.
GRUB got installed.
I was asked to create passwords.
Then computer run-out-of-battery.
So, yes, I have to repeat the process again, I think.
But I have a few questions:
1. Is the kernel version 2.6.something?
If so, will I be able to re-compile the latest version of kernel?
2. I assume I can install Lunar on a USB stick and keep another linux on hard drive intact. Am I right?
3. Consequently, I assume that GRUB get installed on USB stick (is this correct)?
4. Later on, if I decide to keep Lunar and another linux together on HD, will I need to install GRUB?
(well, it is already installed by another linux).
Cheers,
Robert
