I got it running a few years ago (2008 maybe?), but quit using it. I
never played with the silent boot animation, since it required
tweaking a lot of the init scripts, but I did setup the fancy console
with background image. I remember something about adjusting the
Makefile to change kcc to be gcc. It's definitely doable, but I
haven't used it in a while.
