lunar expects you to make the choice when it is right: it will ask the user 
simple choices when required and adjust the build accordingly right away. For 
instance, when you install a media player for the first time, you will be likely 
asked if you want ALSA support. Any other media player that require alsa later 
might ask again, but will suggest this as a default choice since alsa is already 
available.

you do not need to setup a file or some configuration before installing 
anything, just "go about your business" :)
