I must disagree. I don't like your new prosposed style at all.
If we stick with indenting (and I really hope we do) we should use it
for everything. Variables unindented in DETAILS files are fugly and
should be corrected. Just say NO to unidented variables.  Similarly
who keeps using hard tab chars in DETAILS files. They should be horse-whipped
as well!
