Just little info:
Latest is Linux Proprietary Driver 8.36.5 Release: x86 and x86_64 variants

This is only press information. I do not have any ATI card (only Geforces) so 
can not tell how well it works. Maybe this version will have the amdcccle 
fixed for you?
