Maybe it is deprecated but works.
xkeyboard-config does not at all.
If you knew xkeyboard-config breaks configuration, users should be warned.
Example configuration diff should be provided so we could apply changes.
Could you tell me what is wrong with my xorg.conf:
    Option "XkbRules"  "xorg"
    Option "XkbModel"  "acpi"  #"scorpius"
    Option "XkbLayout" "pl"
I tried also:
Option "XkbKeycodes" "xorg"
Option "XkbTypes" "default"
Option "XkbSymbols" "pl_PL(pc104)"
Option "XkbGeometry" "pc(pc104)"
Option "XkbCompat" "basic+pc+acpi"

And still nothing. lining xkbdata solves problem.
Maybe we should wait for full official 1.0 version of xkeyboard-config?
