ML <-> forum gateway ?

Is it possible to set up a mailing list to forum gateway so that
articles posted to the mailing list(s) appear on a forum, and
forum topics are sent to the mailing list(s) ?

I was just discussing the FLTK (http://www/fltk.org) site, where
there is an automatic gatewaying between the forums and the mailing
lists, with the bug-tracker sitting between the two. I know it's a
custom-built site, but I was curious whether this would be possible
with the various components on LL.org.
