I do not complain. I only asked why. And got answer below:

Depends on machine. Very hard if you need 2.6 kernel to connect to net.
In such situation a manual dependency tracing, rebooting and downloading is 
required. Very boring (thats why hard), but possible to do.

Depends on machine's HW support. YMMV.
