What about setting up a method to have 'providers'? Say espgs,
ghostscript, Aladdin's Ghostscript, etc. can provide "GHOSTSCRIPT" and
then have packages that need /some/ "ghostscript" depend on
"GHOSTSCRIPT", which would then ask the user which of the providers of
GHOSTSCRIPT they'd like to use, defaulting to one of the installed
ones, if any.
