I gave it a try and here are my findings:

1 - it doesn't work. slim gives an 'cannot execute login program' and
nothing happens - the 'bin/bash -login' line in the slim.conf is wrong -
it's either '-l' or '--login' too, but that doesn't work either.
Starting 'startx' or 'startxfce4' works fine for me in console. maybe
related to:

2 - I get plenty of pam errors - I don't have sudo installed so slim
should not even try to use the pam sudo stuff:

Nov 28 13:28:32 Saskia PAM-warn[31582]: function=[pam_sm_authenticate]
service=[sudo] terminal=[<unknown>] user=[sofar] ruser=[<unknown>]
rhost=[<unknown>]

3 - the slim init.d script has "# chkconfig: 345 80 20" . That's
obviously wrong. You don't get points for guessing what is right either.

4 - pressing ctrl-alt-del in slim makes it stop - and doesn't even clean
up the lockfile. I suppose slim isn't very secure either, it certainly
looks pretty unstable and unsecure to me (it calls imagemagick to make a
screenshot .... not the smartest idea).

all in all I give this module a 4 out of 10 - didn't pass - it shows
promise but it's not usable at all yet. Too bad!
