State of 2.4 (reguarding features)

Didn't read much more than the message and a few of the responses, but it
sounds as if the 2.4 kernel will no longer have "new features" added and will
be put into a permanent maintenance mode. I don't know if that will change
our view of what our base kernel will be from this point on or whatever.
Just thought I would pass the word on.
