Hi!
Here's the latest weekly news edition!
Hope everyone made it through to wintertime again. Yes the days are
shortening and that gives us time to reflect back a bit. It also makes
the evenings longer and makes me wat to stay up and code stuff, needless
to say it's a more productive season than the summer ;^).
Again I have spent some time refining the lunar core. The resurrect code
has been rewritten and now will try to preserve configuration files in the
same spirit as lin does. Formerly it just overwrote them (oops). I guess
that was once pice of code I never thought about. Most of you might
have seen the 'lin --opts' extension to theedge. Mind you, I will add
these new features to theedge only for the moment. This way you really
can be sure the 'lunar' core is unchanged for the moment.
There have been some reports about wiped module.index files here and there.
if anyone can confirm this and/or reproduce I'd like to know. It should
be fixable by 'lin moonbase', but annoying it is anyhow. lsh now can accept
commands passed as parameters like this: `lsh list_expired_modules`. Very
handy for those people who want to do some light scripting or extracting
data from the core for your own scripts beyond what lvu offers.
BTW there is a new module called 'lunar-tools' in moonbase. The plan is
to migrate all non-vital core-related tools into this separate package.
Right now lnet, lservices, lids and luser are provided by this package.
Cabal is in there too but is broken atm. I will have to merge more related
tools in there at a later stage. Does anyone use cabal actually?
oh well, time to start doing some work ;^)
