SSE and SSE2 itself, as well as 3dnow seem not to make your system 
instable. However, in the past the have been known causes for compile 
failures with gcc-versions prior to 3.3, so be warned.

BTW I deleted your sig in the reply, as I find it contains an offensive 
word.
