Hi!
Here's the latest weekly news edition!
=====================================================================
Hello all!
While nestu is watching the TT I'm picking up the weekly I hadn't finished
yesterday in case you're wondering why it's late. Tons of stuff has popped
up and I just lacked the time yesterday... oh well!
One of the things I was working on is a new openmosix kernel (.26) that
includes the migshm patch. One developer in #openmosix is working on it
and has reported successes with migrating threads like apache etc... cool
stuff of course. Unfortunately it looks like the patch he released doesn't
work correctly yet, at least for me. More on that later.
The 2.6 ISO has gone into alpha stage now and is being tested by the
developers. We've done some heavy inspections on the package handling and
administration and hope to debug the last remaining problems now. As all
great projects, it's useable but we don't know when we think it's fit for
'the masses'. I guess we're just picky, but we know how curious and
relentless the lunar-mob is when we make the code public (and that's a good
thing). Keep those channels open.
We had some cleanups to do after the theedge->lunar code migration. Somehow
a piece of old code in CVS got stuck that was supposed to be removed from
'lunar'. This is fixed now and lunar is now identical to 'theedge' as it
was about 10 days ago.
A small note on the bug tracker: I'd like to encourage everyone to use the
new bugtracker. Just click 'issues' on the top right of every page.
see you in #lunar!
